On a glorious autumn morning 13 members left Southbank car park and headed to Doune for our weekly walk. We arrived as instructed by our leaders at Doune castle car park, where we met another of our walkers who had arranged to meet us there. After using the on site facilities, which were extremely busy with tourists, we started our 8 mile walk by passing the side of the castle and heading on to the riverside walkway. We hadn't walked very far along the river Teith when Ann called morning tea. This was a beautiful spot at the side of the river. There was a couple of fishermen waist high in the water, trying there best. (and here we were they could have had their pick and it would have been the catch of the day). Tea break over continuing along the banks of the river till we reached the main road where we crossed and went onto another walkway through woods and reaching a lovely pond full of ducks. This is where we stopped for lunch. Last week's walk was in this area also, but thanks to Barbara's knowledge of this area as well as Ann's these two walks were very different. After lunch we had a flight of wooden steps to climb, then through the village and back onto the opposite side of the river, where we had lovely views of the castle. After all the rain that there had been all week the Teith was very fast flowing. A most enjoyable walk led by Ann Martin and Anne Langley.

Well done.

Good to see George back after his knee op.
