Change of Walk on 9th January 2016

WalksPosted by Webmaster Mon, January 04, 2016 17:20:43
Unfortunately, the C grade walk scheduled for the 9th January (The Hillfoots from Tillicoultry) has had to be cancelled. The other walk scheduled for this date is The Whangie and Burncrooks Reservoir (grade B). Because of the difficulty in finding a suitable replacement for the lower walk over the festive period, the intention is to offer a less challenging version of 'The Whangie' in addition to the scheduled walk.

The suggestion is for both groups to set off from the starting point of the Queen's View car park. One group will head for the Whangie via Auchineden Hill while the other group will take the more direct route to the Whangie where we will meet up for tea/coffee. After the break, the two groups will go their separate ways with the possibility of meeting up again later in the day.

As you are aware, we are very dependent on the weather, particularly at this time of year. As a consequence, it is difficult to be too specific regarding the actual route to be followed on the day. Nonetheless, it will be good to get back out walking again after the Christmas and New Year break.
